MY STORY

It gives me great pleasure to share my story which is in a nutshell my journey from teacher/administrator to baker.

After  35 years of service with the Howard County School System, I retired in 2013.  My interests were traveling with my husband Stu, spending time with my children, grandchildren, family, friends, and maintaining a daily exercise regimen.

I would not have imagined that my passion for baking would manifest itself during the Pandemic of 2020.  As we locked down and began worshipping virtual, my Pastor Rev. Dr. Jason-Griffin Jordan shared with the parishioners that during this Pandemic we would emerge with a gift that God had placed deep down inside of us.  Baking professionally was never a thought that crossed my mind.  However, to keep my mind busy, I started baking cookies and cakes for neighbors, family, and friends. In June 2020, Patra Sweet Treats was born!

I bake with a lot of love and after the pandemic restrictions are lifted, I plan to give a portion of my proceeds to purchase toiletries and feminine products for Maryland's Women Prison in Jessup. With each order, I appreciate your feedback and expect my customers to enjoy the sweet treats with each bite.
